No Early Release On Three Wednesdays During Statewide Testing - April 15, April 22, and April 29, 2015
The Osceola County School District is
planning ahead for the upcoming spring administration of the Florida
Standards Assessment by allowing students to have a full day of school
on the Wednesdays when the test will be administered. As such, parents should be advised that there will be no early release of students on the following Wednesdays:

Arriving after 8:50 each day The front parking loop will be closed at 8:50 daily and vehicles will be directed to the front parking lot to park and walk their students to the front office.
Students who are not in the front office at the time the bell sounds (8:55) are tardy. Parents/guardians of these students are required to address the front office staff regarding reason(s) for being late so the office staff may code the tardy pass as excused or unexcused. An example of an excused tardy would be students who have a medical excuse.
Users will be prompted to enter the district's code, which is osceola, and asked to create a username, password, and profile to begin. For difficulties logging in, parents and students can contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The academic progress of all students, including those students who exceed curriculum benchmarks, remains a high priority for the school district. Per 1002.3105, Florida Statutes, Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning (ACCEL), the district provides a plan for acceleration decisions within the district’s existing Multi-Tiered System of Supports/Response to Intervention (MTSS/RtI) framework. School level Problem Solving Teams shall review assessment data at the beginning of the school year to determine which students may benefit from acceleration options. High performing students who show the need for additional enrichment and challenging curriculum options are currently placed in the appropriate classroom with differentiated instruction. If you have further questions or would like to inquire about ACCEL options, please contact the school office.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Students must be dropped off and picked up in the car rider area. Students may not be dropped off any earlier than 8:20 a.m., as students will not have supervision prior to that time. Never, ever, leave a student unattended without a staff member present. It is very important that parents adhere to the procedures and stay in the car line when dropping off students. Also, be mindful of the speed bumps and newly posted speed limit signs.
** Parents, please DO NOT park your car in the parking lot and drop off/pick up your child. At East Lake, safety is a top priority. Following the above procedures will ensure that students are safe at all times.
Students who are walkers/bike riders may meet a parent who is walking home with them at dismissal. Parents of walkers/bike riders should not have a car on campus. All walkers/bike riders enter the school by the bike rack area and the cafeteria. Students should not arrive to the bike rack area prior to 8:20 a.m.
Rainy Day Plans
If it is raining and no lightning is present, students will be instructed to follow their rainy day plan. Walkers/bikers will still walk/bike home OR you can teach your child to go to the car-rider area on rainy days. If lightning is present, all walkers and biker riders will be held in the front foyer area until the storm passes and it is safe to release them. It is vital that your child knows their rainy day plan to minimize confusion.
We must be notified in writing in advance of any change in dismissal procedure for your child.
We love our parent volunteers! If you are planning to volunteer on our campus you must first fill out the online application. You must be an approved volunteer in order to assist staff and students on our campus, chaperone field trips, attend campus events such as field day, and much more.
This application has to be submitted every year, even if you filled it out previously!
